Getting Started with Sentimento

This guide walks you through adding Sentimento to your Telegram group and configuring it for optimal performance.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • A Telegram group where you are an administrator
  • Permission to add bots and grant admin rights
  • A few minutes to complete the initial setup

Step 1: Add Sentimento to Your Group

  1. Open Telegram and search for @SentiTrackerBot
  2. Start a conversation with the bot by clicking "Start"
  3. Click the bot's profile → "Add to Group"
  4. Select your target group from the list

Method B: Group Settings

  1. Open your Telegram group
  2. Click the group name to access settings
  3. Select "Add Members" or "Administrators"
  4. Search for @SentiTrackerBot
  5. Add the bot to your group

Step 2: Grant Admin Permissions

For Sentimento to function properly, it needs administrator privileges:

  1. Open your group settings
  2. Navigate to "Administrators"
  3. Find @SentiTrackerBot and click to edit permissions
  4. Enable the following permissions:

Delete Messages ✅ Yes Remove spam, violations, and moderated content
Ban Users ✅ Yes Block spammers and rule violators
Pin Messages ⚪ Optional Pin important announcements
Add New Admins ⚪ Optional Not typically needed
  1. Save the changes

Step 3: Access the Dashboard

After adding the bot, access your web dashboard to configure settings:

  1. Send /start to @SentiTrackerBot in a private message
  2. Click the "Open Dashboard" button or visit sentimento.ai
  3. Log in using Telegram authentication
  4. Select your group from the "My Groups" list

Step 4: Basic Configuration

Moderation Settings

Navigate to Group Settings → Moderation to configure:

  • Anti-Spam: Enable/disable automatic spam detection
  • Link Filtering: Block unauthorized external links
  • Word Blacklist: Add prohibited words or phrases
  • Phishing Protection: Enable URL scanning (LITE/PRO)

Welcome Messages

Set up automated greetings for new members:

  1. Go to Group Settings → Welcome Messages
  2. Enable welcome messages
  3. Customize your message using these variables:
  4. {first_name} — Member's first name
  5. {username} — Member's username
  6. {group_name} — Your group's name

Example:

Welcome {first_name}! 👋

You just joined {group_name}. Please read our pinned rules before posting.

CAPTCHA Verification

Protect your group from bots:

  1. Navigate to Group Settings → CAPTCHA
  2. Enable CAPTCHA verification
  3. Choose verification type and timeout duration
  4. Configure action for failed verification (kick/ban)

Step 5: Enable Reports (LITE/PRO)

Set up daily activity reports:

  1. Go to Group Settings → Reports
  2. Enable daily reports
  3. Select the recipient (group or admin DM)
  4. Choose your preferred time zone and delivery time

Verification Complete

Once configured, Sentimento will:

  • ✅ Monitor all incoming messages
  • ✅ Apply your moderation rules automatically
  • ✅ Welcome new members
  • ✅ Challenge new members with CAPTCHA (if enabled)
  • ✅ Generate analytics and reports

Next Steps

Troubleshooting

Bot isn't responding

  • Verify the bot has admin permissions
  • Check that the bot hasn't been removed from the group
  • Ensure the group isn't in restricted mode

Messages aren't being moderated

  • Confirm moderation is enabled in dashboard settings
  • Check that specific rules (anti-spam, link filter) are activated
  • Verify the bot has "Delete Messages" permission

CAPTCHA not appearing

  • Ensure CAPTCHA is enabled in settings
  • Check that the bot has permission to send messages
  • Verify timeout settings are correctly configured
