Moderation

Sentimento provides automated moderation to keep your community safe and spam-free. FREE tier groups get basic moderation, while LITE and PRO tiers unlock the full moderation suite.

Anti-Spam Detection

Automatically detect and remove spam messages based on:

  • Message patterns and repetition
  • Suspicious content characteristics
  • Known spam signatures
  • Rapid message flooding

Configuration Options: - Enable/disable anti-spam - Set sensitivity level (low, medium, high) - Choose action (delete, warn, mute, ban)

Tier Availability: All tiers (basic on FREE, full on LITE+)

Control external links shared in your group:

  • Block All Links: Prevent any external URLs (FREE+)
  • Allow All Links: Permit all URLs (FREE+)
  • Whitelist Mode: Only allow approved domains (LITE+)
  • Blacklist Mode: Block specific domains (LITE+)

Configuration Options: - Enable/disable link filtering - Manage domain whitelist/blacklist (LITE+) - Set action for violations (delete, warn, mute)

Tier Availability: All tiers (block all/allow all on FREE; advanced whitelist/blacklist modes on LITE+)

Word Blacklist

Create custom lists of prohibited words and phrases:

  • Add individual words or phrases
  • Use pattern matching for variations
  • Set severity levels per word

Configuration Options: - Add/remove blacklisted terms - Configure case sensitivity - Set action per term or globally

Tier Availability: All tiers (max 5 words on FREE, unlimited on LITE+)

Phishing Protection

Available on PRO tier only

Advanced URL scanning to detect malicious links with multiple detection layers:

  • Homoglyph Attack Detection: Catches lookalike characters used to impersonate domains
  • Cyrillic Character Smuggling: Detects mixed-script attacks using Cyrillic characters that resemble Latin letters
  • Typosquatting Detection: Identifies domains that are subtle misspellings of legitimate sites

How It Works

  1. Navigate to Group Settings → Moderation
  2. Select a moderation preset
  3. Rules are automatically configured based on the preset
  4. Customize individual settings as needed after applying

New Member Onboarding

Unified welcome and CAPTCHA system for new members joining your group.

Onboarding Modes

Mode Description
Welcome Only Send a welcome message without requiring verification
CAPTCHA Only Require verification without a separate welcome message
Both Send a welcome message and require CAPTCHA verification

Welcome Messages

Greet new members with customized messages.

Available Variables: - {first_name} — Member's first name - {last_name} — Member's last name - {username} — Member's @username - {group_name} — Group name - {member_count} — Current member count

CAPTCHA Verification

Protect your group from automated bot invasions with CAPTCHA challenges for new members.

How It Works: 1. New member joins the group 2. Sentimento sends a CAPTCHA challenge 3. Member must solve within the timeout period 4. Successful verification grants full access 5. Failed verification triggers configured action

CAPTCHA Types:

Math Challenge PRO only Solve a simple arithmetic problem
Word Selection PRO only Select the correct word from options

Configuration Options:

Anti-Bot Protection

Available on all tiers

Prevents unauthorized bot additions to your group.

  • Detects when unauthorized bots are added to the group
  • Optional automatic ejection of unauthorized bots
  • Admin notifications when bot additions are detected
  • Configurable actions (notify only, eject bot, eject user who added it)

Eject Bot Automatically remove unauthorized bots
Eject User Remove the user who added the unauthorized bot
Admin Notifications Notify admins of bot addition attempts

Raid Protection

Available on PRO tier only

Defend against coordinated mass-join attacks with automatic detection and lockdown.

How It Works

  1. Sentimento monitors the rate of new member joins
  2. When joins exceed the configured threshold, a raid is detected
  3. Automatic lockdown is triggered to prevent further joins
  4. Admins are notified of the raid event
  5. Lockdown lifts automatically after the configured duration

Sensitivity Levels

Level Description
Low Tolerates higher join rates before triggering
Medium Balanced detection for most communities
High Aggressive detection, triggers on smaller join bursts
Custom Configure your own join count and time window

Configuration Options

  • Enable/disable raid protection

Bot Swarm Detection

Available on PRO tier only

Independent from raid protection, bot swarm detection identifies coordinated bot invasions using behavioral analysis.

How It Works

  • Detects patterns consistent with coordinated bot accounts joining simultaneously
  • Analyzes account characteristics (age, profile completeness, naming patterns)
  • Works alongside raid protection for layered defense
  • Triggers configurable actions when a swarm is detected

Progressive Punishment

Available on PRO tier only

Per-category warning system that escalates punishments for repeat offenders.

How It Works

  1. Each moderation rule category tracks warnings independently
  2. First violations receive warnings
  3. Subsequent violations escalate to mutes
  4. Continued violations result in bans
  5. Warning counts reset after a configurable timer

Escalation Path

1st offense → Warning
2nd offense → Warning
...
Nth offense → Mute (configurable threshold)
Further offenses → Ban

Command Prefix

Customize the prefix for bot commands:

  • Default: /
  • Options: !, ., #, or custom character

Quiet Hours

Schedule periods when the bot reduces activity:

  • Suppress welcome messages during quiet hours
  • Disable non-critical notifications
  • Maintain moderation without noise

Auto-Responses

Available on all tiers

Create automatic replies triggered by specific keywords or phrases.

Creating Auto-Responses

  1. Navigate to Group Settings → Auto-Responses
  2. Click "Add Auto-Response"
  3. Define trigger keyword(s)
  4. Set response message
  5. Configure options

Trigger Options

Exact Match Trigger only on exact phrase
Contains Trigger if message contains keyword
Starts With Trigger if message begins with phrase
Regex Use regular expressions for patterns

Creating Recurring Messages

  1. Go to Group Settings → Auto Messages
  2. Click "Create Auto Message"
  3. Enter message content
  4. Set schedule (frequency and time)
  5. Activate the message

  2. Click "Schedule Message"
  3. Enter message content
  4. Select date and time
  5. Choose timezone
  6. Confirm scheduling
